Camillo Donati, Trebbiano Secco 2022

Flag of Italy

Camillo Donati has winemaking in his blood. His grandfather, Orlando, first planted vines in his hometown of Arola in 1930; with his father, Antonio, taking the reins in 1964. Camillo was brought up to treat the vineyards as a part of the family, a living being. It's the source of his biodynamic success today, as he is so in-tune with what the vines need and can therefore produce exceptional, authentic, natural wines time & again without the need for chemicals in vineyard or winery. Trebbiano Secco 2022 is a wonderful pet-nat, taken from fully biodynamically farmed plantings in Tuscany and Romagna. A nose of grapefruit, lemon curd, dried apricot and apple moves to a bone-dry, but nevertheless vibrant, palate with a rounded texture and complex fruity finish. A great wine to pair with all kinds of soft cheeses, or equally at home as an aperitif.
